Hello, I am Yolanda Xing (Qianwenyi Xing),
a product designer dedicated to growth.
YES, growth. It's not just about my growth mindset for career development as a designer; it's a lifelong dedication to becoming a better and complete person through my design career—the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and the pity for suffering.

As you can tell from my experience,
I am not a design major, but a designer now by choice.
Here is how I grow as a designer.
My first time using design thinking to solve problems
I didn't learn design thinking from textbooks but from a service design experience for "PEER 2022 Trainee Project," a summer program for underprivileged students from rural areas. As the project manager, I designed a boot camp and support plan, transforming our "servees" into valued "servers." This initiative raised $25,000 and was hailed as the best new non-profit educational project in recent years. This hands-on experience led to my first UX design internship, with a senior designer acknowledging, "Your understanding of design thinking is very impressive and realistic, and your potential shines."

Observe, Design, and Code
During my Teachers College master's program in Instructional Technologies and Media, I undertook courses in Human-centered Design, Cognitions and Computers, Mobile Learning, Video Game Design, and Front-end Coding. I cultivated the mindset that solutions should be geared towards answering specific questions. Furthermore, I discovered the transformative power of digital storytelling. My efforts in this area were validated by winning INA (Innovation Award).
In my free time, I dance!
